UGC HL Platinum Season 18 Playoffs Week 2

Intro

Amidst all the Gold drama, Platinum slowly trudges on. Upward is done with, and Viaduct reappears once again, just in time for rematches. Both games have been seen before earlier in the season, so it’ll be interesting to see the differences, if any.

We had some crazy awesome games take place this past Monday and we got to cast two of them. With these games, we separate 4 of the teams in the Lower Bracket of playoffs, one loss away from packing it in for the season.

Week 7: Tough To Process

After a weeklong Granary induced hiatus, I return. You know, despite no one mentioning or caring about its absence. A week of mid-terms and papers made it extremely easy to justify this break while I plotted such wonderful things for the power rankings. Things which may or may not exist, depending on who you ask. Last week on Metalworks we only saw one match that had a surprising finish, where Chubby Ducks managed to conquer Snailed It. Metalworks is one of the most reviled maps in the rotation, which is unfair because Granary should have that illustrious award. The hierarchy of IM has been set in stone with the past week with the victory of Dog1 over El Classico pretty much guaranteeing that Dog1 would end this season 16-0.

The eighth seed is the most up in the air spot, Welcome To Base World made an attempt to surge their way up to 8th but now see a giant barrier in front of them. Their last three games are against El Classico, Dog1, and Flipper Skippers. I do not foresee them coming out of this extended week with any wins and it may ruin their chances to make the playoffs, despite having 9 wins already. Sparkle Gang has a chance to play a similar role to the one that they played last season where they can ruin another team’s playoff chances, but have slim to no chance to actually make the playoffs themselves. If they can slip up Don’t Slip, then Don’t Slip may not make the playoffs because they will not beat Young Hunters Social Club

Week 8 Review and Playoffs Preview – Guys, we made it!

by VoxDei and whymeo

It’s the wonderful thing about playoffs in UGC is that you never know all 8 spots before the last game. We had some very important matchups take place, including Don’t Tilt vs Shadowball and All Washed Up vs Baited by Rhy.

This week had a lot of seemingly one-sided matchups with only two games going to a 2-1. Although, it is important to note that a 2-0 does not always indicate a roll.

ESEA-O S21 Matches to Watch and Predicting Playoffs Seeding

With only a week left of the regular season, I finally wrote another open article. This one is a little different than previous articles. I’ve highlighted the important matches to watch for playoffs seeding as well as made my predictions for what the playoffs seeding will look like.  By now, there’s a pretty clear picture of what teams are going to make playoffs. However, upsets are always a possibility and there are some matches that look to be pretty close. Anyway, onto the matches:

UGC HL Platinum Season 18 Week 8

Intro

As the other divisions play their final game for many, Platinum plods on, with yet another game after this before playoffs. Though, for Platinum, the majority of teams will be playing on anyways, with only three teams set to close up shop after Week 9. We head to Badwater Pro, the second season of it after a season of review and debate regarding the vanilla Badwater map. PL as a gamemode lends itself for less last minute choices that decide a winner, encouraging stronger play throughout as the method to win, so hopefully we’ll see some interesting play.

UGC Gold Highlander Season 18

Week 7 Review and Week 8 Preview – The Final Countdown

by VoxDei and whymeo

Lakeside proved to be as awesome as I was expecting it with some close games even in the 4-0 and 4-1 matches. This also extended to other divisions as well. However, we are going to move from the action-packed KOTH extravaganza back to Payload, although Badwater does have its fair share of exciting moments.

A pretty good W/L spread between Home and Away and only 3 games ended 4-0.
