UGC Gold Highlander Season 20

Week 7 Matchups and Power Rankings

by whymeo

There’s only two weeks left until playoffs and what teams will be making it past the regular season still remains uncertain. The door has already closed on the possibility of playoffs for some teams however, and the matches this week will decide the fate of even more. With no one being particularly familiar with the map this week, pl_millstone, some upsets might happen as a result, which in turn could affect who makes playoffs and who doesn’t. These last two weeks of matches will be the most important yet. First though, let’s take a look at how the teams are looking:

The end of the season fast approaches, and how playoffs will look is beginning to be clearer and clearer each week. Increasingly, the matches that take place will decide who makes playoffs and who does not. In short, this is probably the most important part of the season. So, let’s take a look at how the teams appear to stack up before these last few weeks of matches take place.

UGC Gold Season 20 – Week 5 Matchups and Power Rankings

UGC Gold Highlander Season 20

Week 5 Matchups and Power Rankings

by whymeo

Last week the most anticipated match of the season took place between The Jammers and Door, and it surprisingly ended in a 4-0 win for The Jammers. However, there are still a lot of important matches that have yet to take place. The third and fourth playoff seeds are still far from being claimed and with Nine Angry Men recently adding some plat talent to their roster, the group fighting to get those spots just grew! Which teams will be able to make playoffs in the end? Well, considering how accurate my predictions have been so far this season, I can’t help you with that one. I can, however, offer some well formated Power Rankings:

UGC Platinum HL Season 20 Week 4 Review and Week 5 Preview

Week 4 Review

Ashville ended up playing out much like every week this season. Three 4-0s and a 4-1. As the weeks go along in the season, we’re still holding out for those “special games” wherein we might actually see two competitive teams play, I don’t know, competitively? The season also takes an unfortunate turn at the ends of this week, but I’ll get into that later.

UGC Gold Highlander Season 20

Week 4 Matchups and Power Rankings

by whymeo

This week I’ll be doing something a bit different with the article. I’ve decided to remove the previous week wrap-up section and somewhat combine it with the power rankings. I often talk about team’s past performances in the power rankings, so I decided it would make more sense to just talk how a team did last week in the power rankings instead of in a separate section. Let me know if you preferred the old way however!

As far as matches go last week, it was largely business as usual in Gold: a lot of one-sided matchups. As we get deeper into the season we’ll start to see some really close games however, and The Wittmen vs. galaxy swim team was a preview of that. Probably the most exciting of those close matches is coming up with Door vs. The Slammin’ Jammers, the two undefeated teams in Gold. First though, let’s go over the rankings:

UGC Gold Highlander Season 20

Week 3 Matchups and Power Rankings

by whymeo

Well, It’s time for the third week of matches. Last week was about as boring as it could get, with all the matches but one being 4-0 rolls. And the one that wasn’t 4-0? It was a 4-1. Hopefully this week we’ll see some closer matches, and I do indeed expect us to. First, however, let’s do a quick recap of week two:

UGC Platinum HL Season 20 Week 2 Review and Week 3 Preview

Week 2 Review

It wasn’t a pretty week for UGC’s top divisions. All but 3 matches in Platinum and Gold ended 4-0, one of which was in Plat.

It seemed like it could be a pretty fun week looking at the schedule, with matches between the #1-#3 teams and #2-#4 (in terms of Power Rankings) but, clearly the skill disparity is a bit too large between each of these teams.

Lakeside proved to be unforgiving for the teams at a disadvantage, and will definitely hurt their pride.
